We know that mozilla has recently released Firefox 3.5 version and now the mozilla
development team involved in producing Firefox 4 .They have decided to develop mozilla
fireefoz in windows based theme ,its because shortly we are going ot have windows 7 on
oct 22 keeping that in the mind developers are mocking around to produce version 4 . Mozilla
Labs guys have come up with two mockup interface designs for Firefox 4.0 version: Tabs-on-
Bottom and Tabs-on-Top.
Hands up
Save Vertical Space
Efficiency/Remove Visual Complexity – Right now the tabs have to be connected to something. So, we are adding an extra visual element for them to connect to
Shorter Mouse Distance to Page Controls
Hands down
Breaks Consistency/Familiarity – Moving things confuses existing users
Title is MIA – With the space removed from the titlebar you only get the truncated version in the tab
Longer Mouse Distance to Tabs – Takes longer to mouse to a tab
Lost Space – Sandwiched in between the application icon and the window widgets you lose some space
