The internet search giant always updates its algorithm to improve and show the search results in a glossy manner. Likewise, it’s latest update and change in SERP algorithm is Sitelinks structure. Earlier it had only showed the links of the web pages which have higher clicks and impressions. Now it shows the sitelinks along with the following information viz Web page title, URL, description like an ordinary snippet in SERP which help the users to navigate the webpage easily and in a understandable way as well.
A recent announcement from Google webmasters regarding Sitelinks is given below:
If you don’t want a page to appear as a sitelink, you can demote it. Google will take your request into account when generating sitelinks (although we don’t guarantee that a demoted page will not appear as a sitelink). You can demote up to 100 URLs, and demotions are effective for 90 days from your most recent visit to this page.
