How to install Mac OS X on a Windows system?

Mac OS usually referred as system software, is a series of GUI (graphical user interface) based OS which was developed by Apple Inc. There are various ways to install Mac OS X on a windows system. In general, users do run in to various issues while getting a Mac OS installed on their windows system.

We had landed in to trouble few times when we tried to install the Mac OS on a windows machine due to the compatibility issue. Our System Admin – Ayyanar spent some time in reviewing different versions of OS and the work station environment available and then came up with the solution to it. We have discussed about the issue which we had encountered during the installation and the steps which was taken to overcome the issue in this blog post.

VMware Workstation 7 is one of the amazingly reliable and secure virtualization program filled with significant features which is one of the way to run the cloud environment in your system. As VMware Workstation 7 carries features such as rich user experience, wide range of operating system support and much more, it saves the quality time of the professionals. This program allows you to run any flavor of Mac OS X inside a VMware virtual machine, on any physical machine.

To start with, you will need the virtual image of Mac OS. One can get the virtual image of Mac OS ran under vmware from any of the source in internet. During the installation, you will need to use the virtual image of latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. You will need to just copy this file anywhere on your hard disk and then should open the virtual image file.

Upon completion of the above step, it will open under vmware automatically from where you can edit the physical requirement of the Mac OS X. You will need to decide on the space which you are going to allot to Windows. During our project development, we had increased the RAM size to 3GB and allocated the RAM 2GB for our virtual machine and 1GB for Guest OS. Once you start the virtual machine, it will take around 30 seconds to boot Mac Os X after which you can enjoy the Mac OS in windows machine. Although it was a bit of a work out for us, we are happy to find a cool solution to the issue and share it with our users.
